How to Download and Register in BHIM App
Bhim App is one of many UPI payment apps available in India. Bhim, which crossed the 16 million download mark in its first year, will expand its financial inclusion and create a cashless economy in India.
Why should you use the BHIM app?
Like most UPI payment applications, Bhim offers the following services:
The QR code for vendors allows customers to scan and pay for the product
Generates QR code for people to scan and receive P2P payments
Fraud prevention features such as timeout after 90 seconds of activity
Hindi and English language support
Transaction histories are available and available when needed
Some of the benefits of using the BHIM app are:
Transfer money directly to the user’s bank account
Strong security measures in the form of 2-factor authentication to prevent fraud
Consolidation of all payments (received and sent) on the same platform
There are no traditional banking restrictions, such as working hours or holidays. Customers can manage payments anytime they choose
In a nutshell, Bhim is a basic UPI service for those with very basic needs. In fact, customers looking for more advanced business features such as sending payment links via SMS or email, analyzing customer behavior through advanced dashboards, GST-compliant invoices, and API-based automation may consider RazorPay for more comprehensive payment solutions. Bhim, on the other hand, fits into normal daily transactions.
How to download and register yourself in the BHIM app?
The government has listed 10 easy steps that users can follow to download and register on the app. These steps are as follows:
1 Open Google Play or App Store and search for Bhim App. Click on the app in the list, and then click the Download button
2 Choose your preferred language
Select the mobile number registered with your bank to set up your BHIM account
Set a 4-digit password and use it to log into your account
5 Select the “Bank Account” option and link to the bank account you want to use
You will be asked to set up a UPI PIN. Set it the way you choose
7 Select the “Profile” option in the app. You can set your virtual payment address here. The BHIM app allows two VPAs per user
Select VPA as your primary address. If you have a single VPA, skip this step
9 Generate QR Code. Individual users can use this code to scan and pay friends and family members. Vendors can use it for customers. They can also print their QR codes and display them in their stores to enable scan and pay options
10 Continue sending or receiving payments. You can use your IFSC number, QR code, VPA or account number to initiate transactions
While these steps work for users with smartphones, there are specific steps for users who do not have smartphones or regular Internet access. The following table describes these steps:
1 Use the keys to open the dial pad and dial * 99 #
2 Automatic Voice guides you to choose your preferred language. Once you have set the language, enter your 4 digit IFSC code, short bank code, or the first 4 digits of your bank account.
If multiple bank accounts are registered on your mobile number, select the account you want to use
Enter the last 6 numbers of your debit card, press the space button, and then enter your birth details in MM / YY format, followed by your card expiration date in MM / YY format. When you’re done, hit the reply button
Enter and confirm your desired UPI PIN number
With these steps, your registration in the BHIM app is complete. To perform transactions in offline mode, all you have to do is dial * 99 # to direct the landing section of the offline app. You will then receive instructions in the form of SMS. Answering this will enable the transaction you want.
If you are using a non-smartphone version of BHIM, you will be responsible for paying the SMS charges set by your mobile carrier, even if the app does not charge a transaction fee.
Conclusion:
Bhim App provides an easy-to-use platform for customers across India to facilitate UPI payments. Vendors and customers stand to benefit from certain features such as zero transaction fees and QR code generation.
